Continued Waiver of TOR and TRIPS Bus Fares
Fare collection continues to be waived and bus rides on the TOR and TRIPS bus services remain free at this time.

1-20-26: Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry Replaced by Bus Service
MTA Metro-North has announced that the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry service will be replaced by bus service beginning January 20, 2026 for the evening commute and continuing until further notice due to icing conditions on the Hudson River.
Substitute buses will operate between Tarrytown Station and Haverstraw. Check bus schedule here: https://www.mta.info/document/196646
MTA fares and tolls increase in January
Fare and toll increases for certain MTA transit services and all MTA bridges and tunnels will take effect on January 4, 2026. Fares will increase for NYC Transit, Long Island Railroad and Metro-North's East of Hudson Rail services. There are no fare increases for Metro-North's West of Hudson rail service (operated by NJ Transit) on the Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines. The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) – the Metropolitan Planning Organization for New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley – has completed the public input process for the new Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) - Moving Forward 2055!
The Plan covers all modes of surface transportation from a regional perspective including highways, roads and bridges, streets, rail and bus transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, movement of goods, and transportation for people with disabilities. In addition, it addresses key transportation activities such as operations and management of the transportation system, safety, security, and regional finances.
What is a Regional Transportation Plan?
Every four years, NYMTC staff and member agencies work with stakeholders and members of the public on a Regional Transportation Plan which serves as a blueprint to guide federal investments in transportation.

Port Authority toll and PATH fare increases: Jan. 4, 2026

A 3% increase in tolls at the seven Port Authority bridges and tunnels will take effect Jan. 4, 2026, triggered by an increase in the consumer price index, which determines when the Port Authority increases tolls.

A separate, additional 25-cent bridge and tunnel toll increase will also take effect Jan. 4, previously approved in 2024 to take place annually from 2025 to 2028.

A 25-cent PATH fare increase will take effect next spring with additional 25-cent fare increases each January from 2027 through 2029.
Members of the public are encouraged to comment on the Port Authority's proposed 2026-2035 Capital Plan, the proposed 2026 budget, and the proposed toll, fare and fee changes. Comments can be submitted through the Port Authority website by Dec. 15, and written comments can be mailed to:

NYMTC Completes Palisades Shared Use Path Study / NYMTC Completa el Estudio del Camino Compartido de Palisades
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) recently completed its Palisades Shared Use Path Study - a project that explored the feasibility of making connections between the George Washington Bridge and the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge safer, more intuitive, and more accessible for people walking, running, biking, and rolling.

TOR #59 Detour - Route 59, Spring Valley
The TOR #59 bus is temporarily being detoured and is unable to serve the section of Route 59 between the Exit 14 Park & Ride Lot and South Central Avenue in Spring Valley. TOR passengers can meet buses either at the Exit 14 Park & Ride Lot on the East end, OR at the intersection of Route 59 and South Central Avenue. This detour will be in effect until further notice.

The NY State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) has established a temporary weight restriction on the Route 59 bridge over Pascack Road (County Route 35). This restriction is due to a recent bridge inspection, and the restriction has changed the types of vehicles that can safely cross the bridge. The TOR buses are among the larger and heavier vehicles that must follow the detour until further notice.
