The Rockland County Department of Mental Health has recently partnered with Anderson Center Consulting and Training to provide Autism Supportive Trainings to a wide range of individuals, groups, and organizations. These training sessions are designed to provide an overview of the characteristics of autism, along with practical strategies for supporting autistic and neurodivergent individuals in various settings - including community spaces, emergency situations, healthcare environments, higher education institutions, and workplaces.
The Anderson team is currently offering these free training sessions throughout the County, each of which is approximately two hours long and can be delivered in-person, live-virtual, or in an asynchronous, online, format; depending on the audience. Separate consultation hours are also being offered to delve in deeper and inquire how your organization can implement changes to be a more inclusive environment.
To further this educational effort, the Anderson team is now offering virtual caregiver trainings to provide additional support to those most closely connected to individuals on the spectrum! See below for registration information.
For more information on the trainings currently being offered, please complete a brief survey here: Rockland County Autism Supportive Programs Survey or reach out to the Anderson team at 845-889-9616 or ACCT@AndersonCares.org, and reference the Rockland County Department of Mental Health.
