The Rockland County Clerk acts as Acceptance Facility for the Passport Services Division of the U.S. Department of State. Once residents submit their applications, our staff reviews them for completeness and forwards them to the U.S. Passport Agency for processing. The information contained below has been obtained from the US Department of State website.

  • Appointments are required for Hand-carry passport applications
  • All routine passport applications must be completely filled out and presented to County Clerk staff no later than 5:30 p.m.
  • Passport applications must be completed in black ink.
  • "Cross-outs" on passport applications are not permitted. If a mistake is made on an application, a new one must be completed.
  • Payment Methods
    • Fees to the U.S. Department of State must be made payable by check or money order.
    • Acceptance fees and passport photos can be paid by cash or credit card.
