Help Shape Rockland’s Future: Attend County Comprehensive Plan Fall Workshops
Second Round of Workshops Highlight Data & Preliminary Goals, Priorities, and Strategies
New City, NY – County Executive Ed Day & the Rockland County Planning Department encourage the public to attend the second round of workshops for Envision Rockland, Rockland County’s Countywide Comprehensive Plan update.
A comprehensive plan is the County’s long-term roadmap, guiding how land is used, where development happens, and how we balance growth with protecting natural resources. It shapes decisions on everything from housing and infrastructure to economic development and quality of life.
Each workshop will begin with a short presentation, highlighting data and preliminary priorities and strategies, followed by an interactive open house where residents can browse stations covering a variety of topics and weigh in further on the blueprint for Rockland’s future. During the public workshops, residents will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about how the Comprehensive Plan will guide the County’s future.
- Respond to the draft Vision Statement and Planning Goals.
- Give input on the initial strategies the project team has identified to address priority issues.
