Health Department Announces Measles Vaccine Clinics
FREE measles, mumps, rubella vaccine being offered to Rockland community
NEW CITY, NY - Rockland County Executive Ed Day and County Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Leahy inform residents that the Health Department will be holding free measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine clinics in the community on:
- Tuesday, August 26, from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Community Room, located at 1000 Palisades Center Dr, West Nyack, NY 10994
- Wednesday, August 27, from 3 pm to 6 pm, Mobile Van-Haverstraw Center parking lot, located at 50 W Broad Street, Haverstraw, NY 10927
- Friday, August 29, from 10 am to 1 pm, Mobile Van, community parking lot, 111 Main Street, Nyack, NY 10960

During these clinics, the Health Department will be offering non-immune residents who are 6 months of age and older one dose of the MMR vaccine at no cost.
Individuals are considered protected or immune to measles if they have had physician or provider-confirmed measles or have a lab test confirming immunity. Those born before 1957, and those who have received two doses of measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, are also considered immune.
If you are unsure if you are immune to measles, contact your healthcare provider. Two doses of the MMR vaccine can offer 97% protection from measles.
Free MMR vaccines are also available by calling DOH at 845-364-2497. Immunizations are given at Spring Valley and Pomona clinics. In addition, MMR vaccines are available at local health care providers or by calling a local federally qualified health center, such as Refuah or Sun River Health Care.
