Rockland Department of Health Offers Free HIV Testing Clinic
Testing is Free, Confidential, and Quick

NEW CITY, NY – In recognition of National HIV Testing Day, the Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) is providing a free HIV Testing Clinic for residents.
When: Thursday, June 26th
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Where: Rockland County Department of Health
50 Sanatorium Road, Building A, Second Floor, Pomona, NY
Testing is free, confidential, and quick - and it’s the only way to know for sure if you have HIV. While other clinics offer testing year-round, this is the only walk-in testing event at this location. No appointment is needed, and a photo ID is required.
HIV often has no symptoms in the early stages, meaning you can be infected and still feel healthy. One in eight people living with HIV don’t know they have it. Knowing your status helps you take control - if you’re HIV-negative, you can learn how to stay that way; if you’re HIV-positive, treatment can keep you healthy and reduce the risk of transmission to others to nearly zero. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, knowing your status can help protect your baby from infection.
“We recognize HIV Testing Day to empower people with knowledge, reduce the stigma, and stop the spread of HIV. With proper treatment, people living with HIV can live long, full, and healthy lives,” said Dr. Mary Leahy, Rockland County Commissioner of Health.
Other free testing options at RCDOH clinics:
- Sexual Health Clinic: Call (845) 364-3771 for an appointment.
- Family Planning Services Clinic (845) 364-2531 for an appointment.
