NEW CITY, NY, - Looking for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables that are picked at their peak and packed with flavor, vitamins, and minerals? Look no further than the many Farmers’ Markets and Farm Stands throughout Rockland County! Visitors can also find local honey, eggs, flowers, baked goods, and handmade items. There's no fresher way to shop—unless you're growing it yourself!

- Thursdays, 8 am – 2 pm year-round
- Location: Municipal Parking Lot, Main Street, Nyack; free parking in selected spots until 2 pm

“Shopping at our Farmers’ Markets not only provides fresh, healthy food but also supports local farmers and benefits the environment by cutting down on packaging, refrigeration, and long-distance shipping,” said Dr. Mary Leahy, Rockland County Commissioner of Health.
Find out if you are eligible for these food assistance programs:
- Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides checks through the Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) (845-364-2577).
- Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) coupons are available to eligible low-income older adults (aged 60 and above) who live in New York State. For eligibility information, call the Rockland County Office for the Aging at (845) 364-2100.
- Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT)help low-income working individuals, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and others afford healthy food for their families. Monthly benefits are issued through an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, similar to a bank debit card or credit card, that can be used to purchase food at authorized retail food stores and farmers’ markets.
- FreshConnect Program Checks (FCC) are offered to active-duty members, veterans, and their immediate family members, as well as un-remarried surviving spouses of veterans, for fresh produce and other food items at participating farmers’ markets throughout New York State.
