County Executive Day Honors National Police Week

New City, NY – County Executive Ed Day is proud to honor the service and sacrifice of Rockland’s Law Enforcement Divisions for National Police Week, running May 11^th through May 17^th.  

“As a former Police Commander, Police Week holds a deeply personal significance for me. It’s a time to honor the courageous men and women who risk their lives every day to protect our communities and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” said County Executive Ed Day. “Their bravery and dedication are a reminder of the sacrifices made by law enforcement, and it’s our duty to ensure their legacies are never forgotten.”

Established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, this annual tribute is dedicated to honoring the brave law enforcement men and women who serve and protect our communities while also providing support to their families and colleagues.

During National Police Week, we encourage all Rockland County residents to join us in expressing gratitude to our law enforcement officers and in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community.
