County Executive Urges Governor Hochul to Appoint Neil Cosgrove to MTA Board
Attached Letter Below Sent Tuesday
New City, NY - On Tuesday, Rockland County Executive Ed Day called on Governor Kathy Hochul to appoint Neil Cosgrove as the county’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Board. The position has remained vacant for 20 months.
Executive Day emphasized Cosgrove's deep understanding of transportation policy and his dedication to advocating for Rockland’s residents, highlighting the $40 million annual value gap between the county’s contributions to the MTA and the services received. Appointing Cosgrove, Day asserts, would restore fair representation and address the county’s pressing transit needs.
