NEW CITY, NY – Rockland County Executive Ed Day is proud to share the County’s Rockland Repair Café is returning this fall with the first event on Sunday, September 27th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Nyack Center, 58 Depew Ave, Nyack.

The event pairs skilled volunteer Repair Coaches with residents who bring in broken household items for free evaluation and repair. Participants are welcome to bring items such as lamps, clothing, small appliances, wooden pieces, furniture, toys, and electronics.

“This is a great opportunity for residents to bring broken items for repair,” said County Executive Ed Day. “Thank you to our Repair Coaches for utilizing their expertise and passing this essential skill to the younger generation. Events like this reduce landfill waste, foster sustainability, and strengthen our community connections.”

Repair Coaches will assess and repair items at no cost, provided the necessary materials are available. These talented volunteers are eager to share their knowledge and skills, keeping repair traditions alive and promoting sustainable living.

The Rockland Repair Café is a free event made possible through the support of the Rockland Conservation & Service Corps, a program of the Rockland County Youth Bureau, in partnership with Rockland Green, Village of Nyack, and The Nyack Center.

*Please note: items powered by gas engines—such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, and other gas-powered equipment—cannot be repaired at this event. Only street parking is available at this location.
