Rockland Poet Laureate United Communities With Cross-Hudson
Poetry Series

NEW CITY, NY – Rockland County Poet Laureate Juan Pablo Mobili is uniting communities through a Cross-Hudson Poetry Series called Poets of Two Shores: A Poetic Bridge Across the Hudson River.

Launched earlier this year, the series is a unique collaboration between Rockland County Poet Laureate Juan Pablo Mobili and Village of Mamaroneck Poet Laureate Melissa Joplin Higley, to celebrate poetry while building connections across the Hudson River and strengthening relationships between neighboring arts communities.

“I believe that the arts are not just an expression of creativity but a vital tool for community building and I applaud Juan Mobili for going above and beyond as Rockland County’s Poet Laureate with unique programs such as these that without question unite communities,” said County Executive Ed Day.

The Poet Laureate program, a collaboration between Rockland County Executive Ed Day and the Arts Council of Rockland (ACOR), aims to shine a spotlight on the literary arts and their integral role in our community’s cultural fabric. Through his tenure as Rockland County Poet Laureate, Juan Pablo Mobili has served as an ambassador for poetry, connecting with residents through public readings, civic events, and educational programs at libraries and community centers.

We encourage all of our residents to take part in the events and programs offered by our Rockland County Poet Laureate to celebrate and embrace the transformative power of poetry to inspire, connect, and elevate our community.

Find upcoming events featuring Rockland Poet Laureate Juan Pablo Mobili on ACOR’s website.
