County Strengthens Public Assistance Safeguards with New DSS Leadership

Brings Decades of Prosecutorial and Law Enforcement Experience
to Protect Public Resources

New City, NY – Rockland County Executive Ed Day affirms the County’s commitment to protecting taxpayer dollars and welcomes Patrick A. Frawley, Esq. our new Commissioner of Rockland County Department of Social Services (DSS).

Frawley officially assumed his new role Tuesday after serving six years as Chief Assistant District Attorney in the Rockland County District Attorney's Office and decades of additional law enforcement experience as a decorated Detective, Community Police Officer, and School Resource Officer.

"Every dollar intended to help our most vulnerable residents should go to those who truly need it," said County Executive Ed Day. " Patrick Frawley's unique combination of prosecutorial, investigative, and law enforcement experience leading our Department of Social Services ensures the County takes every reasonable step to safeguard public funds, strengthen oversight, and ensure our programs operate with integrity."

As Commissioner, Frawley will oversee the administration of essential programs that provide temporary assistance, child support services, adult protective services, child welfare, and other critical resources to eligible Rockland County residents.

"I am honored to serve as Commissioner and remain committed to ensuring these vital programs continue to serve those who legitimately rely on them," said Commissioner Patrick Frawley. "Strong oversight and accountability are essential to maintaining public trust which my background in law enforcement and prosecution reinforces."

Under Frawley's leadership, the County will continue evaluating opportunities to ensure eligible families receive the assistance they need efficiently and compassionately.
