Job Description:

The Nyack Public Schools is seeking a candidate to serve as a school monitor in their fast-paced elementary schools. This is routine interpersonal work involving the supervision and care of children in a school setting. The work may require the ability to speak a language other than English to communicate with a particular student population. The work requires independent judgment and is performed under the supervision of a teacher or administrator. Does related work as required. The work is performed under the general supervision of a school principal

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Other Requirements and Information:

• Ability to understand and direct children courteously and firmly but tactfully; ability to speak clearly and effectively; ability to speak a language other than English if required.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:

• $26.61 per hour
• Part time (20 hours per week)
