The Town of Clarkstown Parks and Recreation is seeking Certified Lifeguards for their Aquatics Program.

We are seeking vigilant, responsible and CERTIFIED Lifeguards to ensure that safety and well-being of all patrons at our aquatic facilities. The work is performed under the supervision of an Aquatics Director and Aquatics Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Age: 15 years old

Must Have: A current certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid with the American Red Cross or a Board of Health approved provider.

Must Have: Reliable Transportation

Other Requirements and Information:

Town Run Water Test: Applicants will be water tested on the techniques learned during their certification course as well as a timed 50yd swim and a 300yd endurance swim.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and benefits are competitive with the public sector market including but not limited to the following:

• $18.50 hourly salary starting candidates
• New York State Retirement System eligibility
• Leadership and other professional development training
