Custodial Workers (East Ramapo Central School District)

There is an immediate need for Custodial Workers for the East Ramapo Central School District. Work involves cleaning mainly school buildings during the afternoon shift (2-10 and/or 3-11), and some day positions may be needed (7-3). All individuals would work under the supervision of a full time custodial supervisor.
Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment is needed as well as the ability to understand and follow simple directions, and to read English.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • No formal education, training or experience is required.  Ability to perform the work satisfactorily will be judged by the appointing authority during the probationary period.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Both full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Position includes health and vacation entitlements if full-time.

    Residency Requirements Expanded

    Effective with Open Competitive examinations held in October 2024, the residency requirements for Rockland County Civil Service Exams has been broadened to applicants residing within the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut at the time of application for the exam. Certain positions may still require residency in Rockland County, surrounding counties or New York State.
