This training explores the nuanced challenges of counseling clients experiencing suicidality, with particular emphasis on clinical complexity, relational depth, and ethical engagement. Participants will examine five critical dimensions of the therapeutic process—including client and clinician agendas, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making—while also engaging in guided reflection on their emotional reactions and professional use of self within the therapeutic encounter. The training will integrate theory with experiential learning to support clinicians in navigating the intensity, ambiguity, and responsibility of working with suicidal clients.
